Internationally coordinated practice-oriented learning

All international universities that are involved in Global Skills Partnerships share high quality standards and are open to new teaching concepts. Nurses training there regularly do well in national registration examinations.

Sustainable partnerships of equals
Fair, secure and lasting

Renowned universities and hospitals pull together on Global Skills Partnerships: In our partner countries, we cooperate with renowned universities and educational institutions as well as long-term care facilities and language schools. The central partners in Germany are clinics, with extensive experience of upgrading the skills of foreign nursing staff and providing intercultural preparation.

As the implementing agency for the Global Skills Partnership Nursing program, GIZ coordinates, establishes contacts with partner universities and nursing staff, and provides organizational support and advice.

Think global, act local

GIZ coordinates the programme. Training content at the partner universities was confirmed in the pilot phase as part of a sample record by the “Gutachtenstelle für Gesundheitsberufe” and is the basis for direct professional recognition in Germany. In addition, an exchange or workshops on different teaching and learning methods between the cooperating hospitals/ universities in Germany and the countries will be established if there is interest. Train-the-trainer workshops will be offered by the German partners, in which above all the methodology of case-centred teaching and learning in particular will be presented and taught. Within the scope of financial possibilities, mutual placements will be (fully or partially) financially supported. Modern skills labs for practical training are also set up in the home-country universities. Parts of the equipment will rotate between the partner universities for training purposes.
